CGG’s NPA Satellite Mapping group has unveiled a new ground movement mapping product for companies involved in asset management, large engineering projects, property conveyancing, insurance disputes and risk management.
Motion Map UK is a national database of high-precision ground stability measurements that reveals millimetre-scale changes in ground and building heights.
The information is generated using state-of-the-art satellite Insar data processing, which NPA says gives geologists, engineers and surveyors unique insight into the location, extent and evolution of ground stability hazards.
According to NPA, Motion Map UK represents a step-change compared to previously available data, drawing on vast amounts of imagery collected by the latest satellites.
NPA Satellite Mapping Insar manager Adam Thomas said: “Motion Map UK will revolutionise the UK’s understanding of ground stability hazards by providing vital insight and context to many of the most critical engineering, geological and environmental challenges faced by our clients.”
Motion Map UK data is available now for one-off purchase, subscription or royalty payment access.
