Politician blames fairies for Irish road subsidence

An independent member of the Irish parliament has blamed road subsidence problems in Kerry on the presence of fairy forts in the area.

Danny Healy-Rae has told the Irish Times that he questions whether reoccurrence of subsidence in the N22 near Curraglass was due to “fairies at work”.

The council’s road department has said that the issue is due to a deeper geotechnical problem rather than fairies.
