Reminder of the call for entries for the Cooling Prize

The Cooling Prize is the premier event for up and coming young geotechnical engineers.

Entrants write a paper on any topic dealing with the engineering behaviour of the ground, whether it be a description of an industrial design or construction project, development of a new piece of equipment or research.

The aim of the competition is to encourage young engineers to write their rst technical paper.

Equal merit will be given to high quality industrial experience and state-of-the-art research.

The 49th Cooling Prize Competition will be held on 28 February 2018 at an event hosted by the North West Geotechnical Group and ICE North West in Manchester.

Geotechnical engineers who are under 33 years of age on 31 December 2018 are encouraged to enter. Authors of selected papers will be asked to present it and take questions on the subject at the event in Manchester. Entries are required by the 2 January 2018.
