The A83 has been closed in both directions to allow assessment a landslip at the Rest and Be Thankful.

Transport Scotland’s term maintenance contractor Bear Scotland has said that the debris has been caught by in one of the specially designed landslip mitigation fences across the bottom of the slope above the A83 carriageway.

Bear said that a full safety and geotechnical assessment needs to be completed as a precaution before the route can be reopened.

Bear added that it is working with a specialist subcontractor to review the potential of opening the Old Military Road diversion route, however this will depend on a full geotechnical assessment determining the safety of this option.
