RPS secures Scrabster pier design deal

Scrabster Harbour Trust has announced that RPS will undertake design and project manage the £15M redevelopment of the St Ola pier.

The projects is the second phase of redevelopment at the harbour and involves reconstruction of the 1970s pier that was built to accommodate ro-ro ferry operations.

RPS beat off two other bidders to secure the £443,000 contract to design and manage the work to redevelop the pier to create modern deep-water harbour infrastructure.

The design and project management work is expected to span three years.

A third phase of work is planned at the site and will see major land reclamation work to create laydown and industrial space to the south of the current harbour facilities.
