Salini JV wins £178M Grand Paris Express deal

Salini Impregilo has announced that it has won a €203M (£178M) contract in joint venture with Nouvelles Générations d’Entrepreneurs for extension of a metro line in Paris.

Under the deal with Paris transport authority La Régie autonome des transports parisiens (RATP), the joint venture will construct a 4.1km tunnel which forms part of the £30bn (£26bn) Grand Paris Express project.

The tunnel will run from Pont de Rungis station to the site of a new station at Orly airport to the south of Paris. It is one of four sections that will form a 14km extension of Line 14. The extended line will improve connections and travel times between Orly and the city by linking the airport to Line 18 of the Paris metro and a new one to be called Line 15.
