Scottish Water confirms Yoke tunnel start

Scottish Water has announced that contractor George Leslie has started tunnelling work for a new 800m long sewer tunnel in Glasgow.

The new sewer is being driven by tunnel boring machine as part of a £7M project to help improve the water quality and natural environment of the River Clyde and tackle flooding issues.

The technique and route – through the grounds of the former Blawarthill Hospital to the north bank of the Clyde – have been selected to minimise disruption, according to Scottish Water.
