Select Committee issues revised statement on HS2 bored tunnel plan

The HS2 Select Committee has issued a revised statement about bored tunnels through the Chilterns region saying that it supports extension of the bored tunnel northwards at South Heath.

In a previous statement, issued on 21 July, the committee had said that it supported plans for extension of a green tunnel at this site rather than a bored tunnel.

The committee has reaffirmed that it does not support the proposals for a Chiltern long tunnel and is continuing to advise southwards extension of the green tunnel at Wendover.

No comment has yet been made in addition to the clarification which was published on the government website today.
