Skanska signs deal for Espoo metro station

Skanska has confirmed that it has signed a deal with Finish metro operator Länsimetro for construction of an underground concourse and tunnels for a new metro station in in Kivenlahti, Espoo, Finland.

The €51M (£45M) project is the final station contract to be awarded on Länsimetro’s second section of the Western metro that will be built between 2019 and 2023.

The work involves an underground station with two ground level entrances and tunnels for both operational and maintenance use.

Construction of the Kivenlahti station is expected to start this year and be completed in 2022.
