Skanska signs deal for Swedish tunnel and station

skanska tunnel

Skanska has said that it has signed a deal with Swedish transport authority Trafikverket to undertake the first phase of work on a new rail tunnel and station in Mälarbanan.

The E9961 Tunnel and Station Sundbyberg-Solna project, which is valued at SEK300M (£25M), will look at the prerequisites for building the infrastructure scheme.

The main focus of the work is to double the number of railway lines between Tomteboda and Kallhäll to four.

The preparatory work is expected to start next month and be complete in February 2021.
