Slope investigation underway near Pulpit Rock

Erosion at the top an embankment on the A82 south of Pulpit Rock has led to lane closures being put in place while ground investigation work is carried out.

Transport Scotland’s term maintenance contractor Bear Scotland said that its internal team of geotechnical specialists had been brought in to look at the stability of a short section of the road next to the loch.

“Our geotechnical teams require access to an area of the embankment at the side of the A82 to carry out some ground investigations and the lights are needed to help them do this safely,” said Bear Scotland north west representative Eddie Ross.

“In the meantime we are not expecting significant delays but motorists should plan their journeys in advance and check the Traffic Scotland website for up to date journey information.”
