The ground investigation contract for the A9 dualling between Tay Crossing to Ballinluig has been awarded Soil Engineering Geoservices.

The £1.1M contract for an 8km stretch of the A9 was awarded by Transport for Scotland.

Cabinet secretary for transport, infrastructure and connectivity Michael Matheson said: “The work to dual the A9 between Perth and Inverness is continuing at pace across the programme with design work ongoing and advance works underway on the Luncarty to Pass of Birnam scheme.

The latest ground investigation work to start on the A9 will focus on the Tay Crossing to Ballinluig section.

“Having recently published the draft Orders for the Tay Crossing to Ballinluig scheme, we are now able to award a ground investigation contract for the same scheme which will help inform ongoing design work.

“These investigations will start next month, with the work expected to last around 10 weeks.

“As some of this work will take place on or near the live carriageway and in order to ensure the safety of both road workers and road users we will need to introduce traffic management arrangements when required.”
