Soletanche subsidiary secures work on Vietnamese pipeline

Soletanche Bachy’s Bessac division has won a contract in joint venture with Vinci Construction Grand Projets to construct a 10km water transmission pipeline in Vietnam.

The project, which is funded by the Asian Development Bank and Saigon Water Corporation, will deliver water supplies into central Ho Chi Minh City.

Construction of the precast concrete pipeline includes undertaking pipe jacking, building of 16 shafts and ground engineering work to take the pipe below a metro line and under the Saigon River.

Work on site is expected to take three and a half years.
