Timelapse footage shows Tideway progress

Timelapse footage has been released by Tideway showing progess made in January.

Major milestones include the start of assembly of the project’s first tunnel boring machine, Rachel, for the central section of the £4.2bn sewer project.

Work has continued on the building of cofferdams at Victoria Street Embankment and King Edward Memorial Park sites ready for the next stage of the project. 

In addition the first tunnel shaft at Kirtling Street, near the Battersea Power Station has been completed, in preparation for tunnelling, while work on a tunnel shaft at the Greenwich site is now underway.

Tunneling will start later this year across the whole project.
