Tutor Perini JV set to win LA’s £308M Purple Line tunnel deal

Tutor Perini has announced that the Fontier-Kemper/Tutor Perini joint venture has received a notice of intent from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority for the Purple Line Extension Section 3 Tunnels Project.

The US£410M (£308.7M) contract is for design and construction of the twin bored tunnels for future 4km long Purple Line subway service between Century City and the VA Hospital in Westwood.

Tutor Perini is currently working on section 2 of the project, which includes tunneling and construction of new stations in Beverly Hills and Century City.

Final award of the contract is subject to a 30 to 60 standstill period. Completion of the scheme is expected in summer 2022.
