Aarsleff started work on site at the start of February

Aarsleff Ground Engineering started work on the project for Kier North Tyneside in partnership with North Tyneside Council at The Avenue in Whitley Bay at the start of February.

Completion of the grouting work on the former hotel site will clear the way for construction of new homes, which is part of the council’s multi-million-pound scheme to regenerate the coastline.

Aarsleff has used a Boart Longyear rig to drill 90 75mm diameter holes to inject 300t of PFA cement grout to stabilise shallow coal mine workings below the site.
