Video: Elon Musk’s LA tunnel almost complete

Boring company

The founder of The Boring Company has released a video of a nearly complete test tunnel under LA.

Musk uploaded the film of the nearly completed tunnel to his Instagram account.

In a tweet he explained that once the ‘pending final regulatory approvals’ were finalised, the company would be offering free rides to members of the public.

He went on to say thank his supporters “Super huge thanks to everyone that helped with this project. Strong support from public, elected officials & regulators is critical to success” and once again reiterated that when fully operational, “the system will always give priority to pods for pedestrians & cyclists for less than the cost of a bus ticket.”

Last month, The Boring Company’s plans were criticised by a tunnelling expert, after they were fast tracked by Los Angeles City Council.

Musk has invested over £70M of his own money into the start up and has suggested that he will reuse tunneling dirt to build lego style bricks

Later this year, The Boring Company should hear if they have been chosen to design, build, finance, operate and maintain Chicago’s proposed O’Hare transit express.
