Repairs to the B6344 Crag End landslip at Rothbury won the Fleming Award in 2016. The winning presentation was delivered by a joint venture of Volker Stevin, Boskalis Westminster and Atkins together with Northumberland County Council and Keller.

According to documents published by the council, the main slope failure to be tackled in the period from April 2019 to March 2020 will be the B6353 between Lowick and Fenwick where £300,000 has been allocated.

Landslip repairs on the C235 at Warden and B6341 at Rothbury have both been allocated £150,000 of funding, while work on the C254 at Ovingham will receive £80,000 to undertake remediation work. Retaining wall repairs will also be undertaken at Westnewton and Wooley Park.

Another Rothbury road, the B6344, was the site of a major landslip in December 2012 (pictured) and the road remained closed until repair work was completed in March 2016.

The council has said that it is hold £120,000 in reserve for ground investigation and design of future slope stabilisation schemes.
