Work starts on Grand Paris Metro tunnelling waste facility

pont de sevres

Société du Grand Paris has announced that work on the river Seine in Paris has got underway to create pier facilities to enable excavation waste from part of the Grand Paris Metro to be transported by river.

The five month scheme on the river bank between Pont de Sèvres and la Seine Musicale will help avoid placing 200 lorries on Parisian streets each day once construction of the Pont de Sèvres station gets started.

The new pier will be constructed using sheet piling and backfilling.
