Ground Engineeing’s new GE Next Generation Awards are now open for entries following announcement of the new event at the main GE Awards last month.
Career achievements by the leading recent recruits in the ground engineering sector will be celebrated by the new awards and will give companies supporting the event the chance to show the lead they are taking in staff development.
“The GE Next Generation awards will expand on the Young Geotechnical Engineer of the Year category with two age categories but the event will also celebrate the contributions made by the talented people who take the apprenticeship route, have recently graduated, excelled in their post graduate studies, as well as those that are at top of the field when it comes to geoenvironmental or ground investigation work,” she said.
The inaugural event, which has already won the support of Arup, Bachy Soletanche and Bam Ritchies, will take place on 13 November at the Skybar at the Grange St Pauls Hotel in London. Imperial College’s John Burland has agreed to be the guest speaker for the event.
All seven categories for the awards are now open for entry and full details of the categories, criteria and entry process, as well as details of the industry-leading judging panel can be found at www.nce.co.uk/GENextGen or send an email to GENextGeneration@emap.com for more information.
